Pre-1933 $5 Indian Gold Eagle Coin – AU Grade
$5 Indian Head Gold Half Eagle
This historic coin was created during President Theodore Roosevelt’s campaign to revitalize America’s coin designs in the early 20th century. Rather than reusing the Saint-Gaudens $20 Double Eagle design for smaller denominations like the $2.50 Quarter Eagle and $5 Half Eagle, Roosevelt insisted on entirely new artwork. The result was a bold new design for the $5 Indian Head Gold Half Eagle.
