Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the Liberty Head Half Eagle was struck from 1839 to 1908. Notably, it is the only U.S. coin design produced at seven different mints, including some of the most historic: Philadelphia, Dahlonega, Charlotte, New Orleans, San Francisco, Carson City, and Denver.
